Position Summary

This role is responsible for overseeing the smooth day-to-day operations of the VHS Learning technology infrastructure which includes but is not limited to the Learning Management System (LMS), Student Information System (SIS), and all system integrations and third-party tools. The person in this position will troubleshoot technical issues and help ensure enterprise systems align with the company’s needs. The Ed Tech Program Manager is also responsible for helping to develop the long-term technology strategic plan and for maintaining the organization’s data privacy and security policies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as day-to-day lead for education technology infrastructure planning and development. Help ensure VHS Learning infrastructure is stable, and support planning for the future.
  • Develop roadmaps of necessary resources and requirements to build & sustain the long-term administration of the system and the various learning initiatives.
  • Complete system set up and configuration of new systems and integrations including installing and configuring the platforms and customizing and optimizing system settings to match organizational requirements.
  • Oversee the use of third-party tools ensuring content accessibility, privacy, and quality standards are met.
  • Provide user support including technical assistance to learners and instructors on system navigation and functionality, respond to user queries and troubleshooting issues; and conduct training sessions on LMS and other system features and usage.
  • Assist with reporting and analytics, analyzing data to identify trends and areas for improvement; and presenting insights to stakeholders on system effectiveness.
  • Complete system maintenance and updates including performing regular system backups and updates, monitoring system performance and addressing technical issues, and remaining current on LMS updates.
  • Remain abreast of new systems/tools within the K-12 online learning industry.
  • Oversee organizational privacy and security functions, collaborating with different areas of the enterprise to develop training for staff so they understand their rights and responsibilities and the organization can meet its compliance obligations related to privacy and security. Maintain the VHS Learning privacy and security policies and ensure they remain compliant with standard K-12 domestic and international privacy standards.

  • Ability to build consensus with strong negotiation, persuasion and communication skills to propose enhancements to operational processes to improve efficiency and/or effectiveness.
  • Ability to advocate for the desired culture in high-level planning and decision making, with a focus on performance accountability and achieving greater operational efficiencies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of complex educational technology operations and data privacy and security standards for K-12 education.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively at all levels both inside and outside the organization.
  • Ability to be an innovative problem solver with excellent critical thinking skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7 years of experience in learning technology design and development.
  • A degree in Education Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Learning management system (LMS) administration expertise.
  • Expertise managing K-12 data privacy and security policies and standards.
  • Experience leading strategic technology infrastructure planning and development.
  • Experience managing complex systems development projects.
  • Excellent technical problem-solving skills and judgement.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and as an individual contributor.

Job Profile Summary

This role focuses on supporting the design, development, and implementation of educational technology systems and policies. The person in this role is a professional individual contributor who may direct the work of other professionals or manage processes and programs and will collaborate across teams. Most of the time in this role will be spent overseeing the design, implementation, and delivery of processes, programs and policies using specialized knowledge and skills typically acquired through advanced education and work experiences. This specialist level position is a recognized subject matter expert in instructional/educational technology and will help the organization establish long-term technology strategy. The person in this role manages large projects or processes with limited oversight from managers, and coaches, reviews and delegates work to other professionals, resolving difficult and often complex problems.

Salary Range: $80,000-$100,000 annually
