As a Senior Backend Engineer at Via, you'll work within our core R&D center to shape the architecture, design, and development of our backend systems in a cutting-edge environment. Within Via's infrastructure, you'll focus on building optimized, scalable and innovative software solutions. Via prides itself on being a true partner to the public sector in helping make transit better for everyone but especially those in low income and minority communities. Via is not only a category leader in on-demand transit but has brought its exceptional technology and expertise to the Paratransit & Student transit world. You will be joining Via at a time of rapid growth, impacting hundreds of thousands of riders weekly, many of whom represent special needs populations, students, caregivers, and more.
What You'll Do :
- Implement microservices from design to production
- Participate in all aspects of agile software development including : designing, hands-on coding, implementing, debugging, deployment, and troubleshooting
- Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful application design
- Responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of new product features and components
- Research and explore new technologies and methodologies to drive continuous improvement and evolution of our tech stack to boost Via's solutions
- Impact product development by making important technical decisions, influencing the system architecture, development practices and more
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify technical dependencies, mitigate risks, and ensure successful project delivery
- Champion a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team and across Via
