What are the responsibilities and job description for the Volunteer - Hospice of Laurens County position at VIA Health Partners?
Job Details
Patient Care Volunteers work as a member of the interdisciplinary team in providing support and companionship to patients and/or families in individuals homes, long term care communities or at one of our beautiful hospice houses.
Administrative Support Volunteers provide behind the scenes support in one of our many office locations.
Licensed Volunteers may provide services such as Cosmetology, Notary, Pet Therapy or Massage Therapy.
Qualifications
Ability to recognize what needs to be done and appropriately address needs.
Comfort in dealing with terminally ill and families in emotional distress.
Knowledge of own limitations and the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries.
Must Commit to:
12 Hour minimum hospice volunteer training
12 Hours of continuing education annually
2 Initial tuberculosis skin tests for any volunteer with direct patient interaction
One year initial commitment
Minimum 24 hours per year to remain active
