JOB SUMMARY:
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to support and implement occupational therapy services. COTAs help individuals develop, recover, or maintain the skills necessary for daily living implementing treatment plans, monitoring resident progress, and support residents in achieving their functional goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
- Certification: Certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) as a COTA.
- State Licensure: Obtain and maintain licensure as required by the state in which you practice.
SKILLS:
- Proficiency in implementing occupational therapy interventions and techniques.
- Strong observational skills to monitor patient progress and effectiveness of therapy.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to follow detailed treatment plans and adapt as necessary.
- Team 1st approach with collaboration between disciplines
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach.
