Job Description
The Part-Time Pediatric Dentist will be responsible for delivering high-quality dental care to pediatric patients in a community health setting. This role involves working closely with other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care, educating patients and their families on oral health practices, and ensuring a positive dental experience for young patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive dental care to pediatric patients, including exams, cleanings, fillings, extractions, pulpotomies, stainless steel crowns, space maintainers and preventive treatments.
- Diagnose and treat oral diseases, injuries, and malformations in children.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Educate patients and their families on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers within the FQHC to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records per FQHC policies and regulations.
- Stay updated on the latest developments and best practices in pediatric dentistry.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school.
- Valid state dental license.
- Completion of a pediatric dentistry residency program.
- Board certification or eligibility in pediatric dentistry.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Strong clinical skills and experience in pediatric dental care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to children and their families.
- Commitment to providing care to underserved and diverse populations.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, patient-centered environment.
- Experience working in a community health center or similar setting.
- Bilingual in Spanish is strongly recommended.
- $130 to $150 an hour.
