Candidates must have experience working around underground utilities and installing fiber optic cables on conduit or direct bury projects.
What you’ll do
- Install new Fiber Optic Network facilities and service / maintain existing network
- Operates various light to heavy equipment, including but not limited to backhoes, excavators, loaders, forklifts, trenchers and utility plows
- Haul and move equipment from project to project
- All underground construction phases include but are not limited to : Loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of various types, sizes, and weight of construction materials and equipment.
- Performs pre-trip inspections; monitors and reports on the status of vehicle repairs and safety-related issues, keeps equipment clean
- Assists with setting up work sites and ensuring proper traffic and safety procedures have been followed
- Responds to emergency calls for service on a call-out basis; works various hours, including nights and weekends as deemed necessary by manager / supervisor to meet deadlines and conform with changing priorities
- Maintain safe working habits / conditions according to all regulations, procedures, and policies.
