What are the responsibilities and job description for the Injection Mold Setup Technician position at VIAM Manufacturing?
JOB SUMMARY:
- Responsible for gathering all necessary tooling and components for next product run. Accountable for mold changes and machine processing at the beginning of each product run. Ensures new associates are educated in all aspects of Injection Molding and packaging processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Pre-stage all tooling and raw material components for next product run and stage at machine, ready for use. (Molds, grommet assembly fixtures, logos, instruction sheets, warning tags, and any other items essential for product run.)
- Organize ALL mold changes while on shift:
- Ensure correct procedures are being followed (LO/TO, tooling, mold installation, etc.)
- Assisting technicians in handling and storage of molds
- Communicate to Superintendent and CNC Dept. if repairs are necessary
- Become proficient in machine/material processing on ALL injection lines to ensure product specs and standards are achieved efficiently.
- Education of newest associates:
- Provide a clear understanding of the VIAM Process Control Plans and how they are used to ensure VIAM’s quality standards.
- Instruction on proper paperwork completion (Mat Pack, FP/LP, Repack forms, etc.)
- Coverage of absenteeism or additional labor:
- Absence coverage
- Build up due to downtime or inexperience
- Repacks, quality sorting, samples, etc.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED
- (4) years on the job experience in production environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficient computer skills
- Writing and communication skills required
- Good interpersonal skills
- Team/company oriented
- Strong mechanical skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks
- Forklift and Genie Boom certification
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
