The Fleet Management team is responsible for building our web application that enables remote configuration, management, and operation of a fleet of physical devices. Configuring one device manually in a lab is one thing, but the Fleet Management team empowers users to manage a fleet of 1000s of machines in the wild. As a Lead Engineer, you will be integral to building high-quality, robust software and creating the future of smart machines/robotics and people management. The features the Fleet Management team is responsible for include:
- Creating a fleet of organizations, locations, and machines
- Providing tools to setup, configure, and connect to an individual machine
- Managing reusable configurations called "fragments" to enable managing device configurations at scale
- Maintaining the registry to create and deploy code to devices, and share it across organizations
You'll be:
- Leading a team of engineers with expertise in web front-end and back-end technologies
- Focused on people management - providing actionable feedback, coaching, and mentorship to their team members and delegating project work to keep engineers engaged
- Contributing at a Senior Engineer level for an application for users to manage their devices with a desire to achieve exceptional usability, accessibility, and performance
- Coordinating with product and technical product managers to achieve team goals
- Collaborating with other team leads on new and unique problems in data, AI, and robotics
- Building and testing on physical devices
- Has experience leading a team of engineers
- Is comfortable working in backend and frontend programming
- Worked in strongly typed languages and with modern frontend frameworks
- Has an affinity for complex, sophisticated problems and loves solving them with practical solutions
- Has deep experience in the design and implementation of developer interfaces
- Wants to make our users' lives easier by making their work more efficient
- Is excited to approach new technologies and open-ended problems
- Believes in high-quality, tested, and well-documented code
- Has a degree in software engineering or equivalent experience
