Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) Fleet Management
Viam's products are built by engineers, for engineers. We want to build a platform we would want to use ourselves.
As a senior full-stack engineer in our web app organization, you will be responsible for building cloud-based functionality to enable remote configuration, control, management, and operation of a fleet of robots. Configuring one robot manually in a lab is one thing, but managing a fleet of 1000s of robots in the wild is what this product is for. The team is also responsible for building the foundation of the cloud management web site that will allow us to add richer features in the future.
In this role, you will be responsible for writing and reviewing code, working closely with and mentoring other engineers, providing feedback on and proposing technical designs, and supporting the team in identifying and triaging priority tasks. Some of our immediate focus areas include :
- Creating and managing a variety of tools to enable users to easily configure and deploy fleets of machines.
- Displaying smart machine configuration, connectivity, and availability status on the Viam website.
- Maintaining the web application (Golang, Svelte with TypeScript, and Mongo DB) for managing individual machines to entire organizations.
- Creating publicly available APIs used by our various SDKs to allow users to manage their fleet programmatically.
- Dashboarding tools to give users better insight into their fleet.
All current team members are based in New York, NY, and are in office frequently. We are looking for team members who come into the office 3 days per week . We are not looking for fully remote employees at this time.

The starting salary for this role is between $160K-220K / year. Your offer will vary based on several factors, including experience level, skillset, market location, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced or more senior than this job description as posted. In these situations, the updated salary range will be communicated to you as a candidate.
