The Quality Supervisor coordinates activities and provides daily direction to a team of quality inspectors, quality technicians and other team members to ensure that quality requirements and improvement objectives are achieved, including management of the day-to-day processes around performance management and attendance for each individual in the department.
This role is responsible for developing performance goals, process improvements and identifying deficiencies in processes or systems that enable the department to execute at a more accurate and efficient level.
Additionally, this role will work with a cross function team of production supervisors, engineering, metrology, and planning to ensure that efforts are aligned with daily needs of the business.
Engage with customers to understand quality expectations, address concerns, and ensure prompt resolution of quality-related issues, fostering strong relationships and continuous improvement.
Quality Supervisor ensures that all inspection and test procedures remain compliant with applicable regulations, standards, customer requirements, and internal policies and procedures.
The Quality Supervisor is also responsible for providing Quality representation and support in the ongoing development, evaluation, and improvements of Viant’s quality programs and systems and any other business initiative requiring Quality support.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage daily performance and attendance of QC Lab personnel consisting of Quality Inspectors and Quality Technicians in the inspection and final release of sub-component parts and finished goods.
Mentor and develop the Quality Inspector
Provide work direction and guidance throughout all shifts on issues/ opportunities relating to Quality and schedule attainment.
Manage and perform, as needed, accurate mechanical, physical and visual inspection when required as per specifications utilizing various measuring equipment (i.e.: OGP, Ram Optical, calipers, micrometers, tensile tester, etc.)
Confirm all product non-conformances and ensure appropriate actions are taking place to segregate material. Support production Supervisors and Engineering to determine necessary corrective actions, assist with verification of the effectiveness of the implemented actions, and communicate findings throughout organization.
Monitor/track QA/QC department metrics and develop continuous improvement plans that drive site Goals & Objectives.
Oversee incoming/in-process sub-components and finished goods inspections.
Manage the Quality Hold area ensuring proper documentation and segregation of non-conforming material.
Ensure accuracy, revise, and input dimensional data into Statistical Process Control database.
Revise, review, and approve QMS documents and inspection control plans in Master Control document control system.
Supervise the quality laboratory in a manner that fosters a safe work environment and self-directed team approach.
Promotes an atmosphere of diversity, open communication and trust, affording opportunities for training and growth.
Identifies, arranges and/or provides training to ensure a safe, efficient, quality work environment with focus on continuous improvement through Lean manufacturing principles.
Facilitates communication, coordination and conflict resolution within and among work groups.
Provides leadership to the quality laboratory in all areas including: hiring, performance management, coaching, counseling, and corrective actions.
Performs other functions as required.
REQUIREMENTS
·3 years experience in contract manufacturing and/or manufacturing environment.
·Experience working in an ISO Quality Management System (ISO 13485, ISO 9001) preferred.
·Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
·Well organized; able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage multiple deliverables while working in a fast-pace environment.
·Highly motivated, focused, self-starter; willing to learn and take on new responsibilities/tasks.
·High proficiency with automated measurement equipment (i.e. OGP, CMM, etc.) and manual measurement instrumentation (i.e. Caliper, Micrometer, etc.)
·Conflict resolution and demonstrated leadership skills
·Ability to interpret drawings, strong understanding of Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), as well as applicable gauging, and inspection methods. ASME or ASQ certification a plus.
·Good communication skills in a culturally diverse work environment.
·Experience with the use of statistical software and document control software a plus.
EDUCATION
·Associate or bachelor’s degree in technical field or High School diploma with equivalent experience.

We offer market competitive compensation. Potential salary range for this role is $1110-$140K. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
