Overview
This role is responsible for maintaining media relations and protecting our corporate image in ways that promote our business, values, and mission. This includes handling responses to media inquiries, pitching corporate stories, developing media lists, and tracking earned and placed media. This role will collaborate with partners on joint announcements, support presentations and speaking opportunities, and manage internal communications and events.
Hybrid opportunity - based at the Falls Church, VA headquarters office 3 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive publicity strategies that align with our business objectives.
- Build and manage public personas of company spokespeople including senior leadership.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers.
- Craft compelling press releases, op-eds articles, and other PR materials to enhance the company's voice.
- Monitor and respond to media inquiries, including maintaining bank of FAQs and database of inquiries and responses.
- Monitor media coverage and manage the public perception of the company.
- Support crisis communication and development of strategic solutions to mitigate PR issues.
- Conduct market research and analyze public opinion to inform PR strategies.
- Organize and oversee press conferences and joint promotional activities.
- Track and coordinate speaking opportunities.
- Coordinate internal communications and corporate events.
