We are expanding our Music Therapy Team and seeking experienced, Board-Certified Music Therapists to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are hiring for both office-based and home-based music therapy positions. Responsibilities may include :
- Collaborate with all members of the individuals’ service team to ensure great communication and customer service is in place.
- Subscribe to a clinical strengths-based approach.
- Be invested in the team process and demonstrate strong clinical skills and interpersonal communication skills.
- Use music therapy supports to aid in the development and growth in the following areas : social skills, communication, motor skills, emotional expression, coping skills, attention span, cognitive skills, and other identified need areas.
- Use music therapy to stimulate and develop attention to be a significant support for those with more complex needs.
- Use music to influence connectivity in multiple parts of the brain to elicit changes in brain function, improving communication between the brain and body.
- Use dedicated therapy treatments to regulate intentional motor movement patterns that consequently improves communication, body awareness and control, motivating changes in other areas of the person’s life.
