Are you interested in helping an adult with a developmental disability by sharing your home and assisting them daily?
ViaQuest is looking for Shared Living Caregivers. This role offers the chance to provide long-term care and promote independence for individuals with developmental disabilities.
If you have at least one spare bedroom, a high school diploma or GED, no criminal record, a car, and a clean driving record, you could be a ViaQuest Shared Living Caregiver.
ViaQuest Shared Living Caregivers provide a place to live, meals, and personal care to meet the needs of adults with developmental disabilities. They can provide shared living services for up to four people as long as they provide private bedrooms and the necessary care. Caregivers are chosen to work with individuals who value independence and share similar ways of living. Caregivers can also be family members or friends of a person receiving care.
ViaQuest Shared Living Caregivers receive:
- Daily tax-free stipend of $100 to $150, depending on how much care is needed. (This is per person cared for.)
- Paid time off.
- Payments for room and board by the person/people you care for.
- Opportunities to work and have free time when the person/people you care for receive other services.
- Free initial and ongoing training, including learning CPR, first aid, and behavior support.
- Support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Simple online tools for billing and reporting.
As a ViaQuest Shared Living Caregiver, your responsibilities include:
- Provide a comfortable and safe home with a private bedroom for each individual served.
- Deliver personal care services as part of everyday life.
- Assist with the daily activities listed in the service plan, such as grooming, cleaning, cooking, taking medication, and driving.
- Be compassionate and attentive.
- Use good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Plan medical appointments and community activities.
- Document services and unusual events.
