POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sourcing and Procurement Specialist to manage and streamline the procurement process for promotional items, packaging, and other custom projects. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Abilities and Skills:
· Proven experience in procurement, with a background in promotional items, packaging or related industries.
· Familiarity with ASI and PPAI tools, networks, and resources.
· Strong creative problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges and identifying innovative solutions.
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with customers, vendors and internal teams.
· Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy and customer satisfaction.
Position Responsibilities:
Branded Merchandise Expertise:
o Leverage experience in the branded merchandise industry to source and procure key product categories such as apparel, eco-friendly items, and tech.
o Stay up to date on industry trends, maintaining a competitive edge in sourcing unique and innovative products.
o Develop and present fresh product ideas that align with client goals and help them stand out in the market.
· Clarification and Communication:
o Collaborate with sales personnel to resolve incomplete or unclear details in project requirements.
o Engage directly with clients to confirm specifications, timelines, and expectations, building trust and ensuring alignment.
o Serve as a liaison between internal teams, vendors, and clients to ensure clear communication and seamless execution.
· Production Coordination:
o Oversee and coordinate multiple production streams, including in-house manufacturing and external vendor processes.
o Manage vendor relationships to ensure adherence to quality standards, timelines, and cost-effectiveness.
o Proactively address production challenges, identifying and implementing solutions to meet deadlines.
· Timeline and Workflow Management:
o Develop and manage project timelines, ensuring all milestones are met across various production streams.
o Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
o Adjust timelines as needed to accommodate changes in project scope or production schedules.
· Procurement Expertise:
o Source materials, promotional items, and packaging solutions from a diverse range of vendors.
o Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to optimize cost and quality.
o Evaluate vendor performance and maintain a network of reliable suppliers.
· Client-Facing Skills:
o Build strong relationships with clients by understanding their needs, addressing concerns, and ensuring we deliver solutions that exceed expectations.
o Communicate confidently and professionally in client meetings, presentations, and updates.
· Knowledge of ASI and PPAI:
o Utilize tools and supplier networks associated with ASI (Advertising Specialty Institute) and PPAI (Promotional Products Association International) to enhance sourcing efficiency and quality.
o Stay informed about best practices and resources available through these key industry associations.
· Creative Problem-Solving:
o Bring a proactive and creative mindset to overcome challenges and develop innovative product ideas and solutions.
o Collaborate with internal and external teams to tailor offerings to client needs and market demands.
Experience:
· 2 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, with a background in promotional items, packaging, or related industries.
· Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in managing incomplete project details.
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate diverse production streams simultaneously.
· Proficiency in creating and maintaining project timelines and ensuring on-time delivery.
· Knowledge of sourcing and procurement best practices, including vendor evaluation and negotiation.
· Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
· Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
· Creative thinking and adaptability to handle unique project challenges.
· Understanding of different markets and how they operate, constantly looking out for risks, key trends, competition, and other factors.
Other Requirements:
· Valid Driver’s License
· Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screening
· Proficient computer skills – Microsoft Office Suite.
Other Physical Requirements: Must be able to communicate effectively with employees and customers; manual dexterity required for occasional reaching and lifting of 25-30 pound objects, and operating office equipment.
