This role is focused on technical product management of technologies that are new to VIAVI OSP and the ideal candidate will be skilled in translating technology features into business value. The position reports to the Senior Director of Product Management, Consumer Electronics and Industrial.Duties & Responsibilities : Job Responsibilities : Identify strategic trends in photonics and assess strategic fit to VIAVI OSPInterest and understanding of emerging photonics technologies including metamaterialsInterest and understanding of emerging photonics markets and applications including quantum computing / sensing / key distribution, optical computing and connectivity and other high potential marketsWork cross-functionally to by understanding market trends, customer needs and competition as well as internal capabilities Create a multi-year product plan with strategic focus on long term product line growth and profitabilityDevelop quantitative and qualitative analyses for entry into new, emerging, strategic and / or high growth marketsDevelop system knowledge and consolidate customers' requirements to further VIAVI OSP product offeringsCollaborate within the Product Management team to create inputs for R&DDrive current products while analyzing pricing, forecasting, strategy and competitors to achieve maximum profitability and customer satisfactionPartner with internal teams, including Engineering, Quality, Sales, Manufacturing and FinanceSupport the development and execution of VIAVI OSP's inorganic growth strategyEffectively manage organizational change to meet business objectivesEngage key influencers, including standards and industry organizations, to drive growthDevelops a regulatory map identifying key opportunities and challenges for our productsTravel 20-40% for in-person meetings with customers and partners and to develop key relationshipsPre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements : Background / Experience : High level of curiosity about anything related to photonics2 years of strategic business development or product management experience in the photonics industryExposure to ultrafast laser applications desiredMust have strong communication, analytical and financial skills and experience with pricing, product, market and competitor analysisAdept aligning cross-functional teams to execute on growth commitmentsExcellent written as well as presentation skillsProven experience in executing strategy, driving change, and taking measured riskIdeally based in Santa Rosa, CA but will consider remote work If you have what it takes to push boundaries and seize opportunities, apply to join our team today.VIAVI Solutions is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer - minorities / females / veterans / persons with disabilities.Job Posting Pay Range : 126,210to234,390Exceptional qualifications, experience and location may impact salary.
