Product Line Manager – Aerospace and Defense Services:
Job Summary:
The Services Product Line Manager (PLM) will be responsible for growing complementary support services for Avionics Test, Radio Test, PNT, Synthetic and Modular products. This is a cross-functional leadership role within the VIAVI Aerospace and Defense business unit.

The successful candidate will take ownership and drive complementary Service offerings for VIAVI’s Aerospace and Defense business, understand and effectively market the value propositions, and lead a global strategy that optimizes operations scale vs local market size/demand. As Services PLM, you will:
- Partner with product PLMs, Solution Architects, and Sales to understand product offerings and their associated market need for services. Identify new business opportunities through market research, competitive analysis, and feedback from customers and partners.
- Define Service roadmaps and launch complementary offerings necessary to support global product strategies. Understand and adapt offerings to support global market and channel strategies.
- Drive business growth through development of go-to-market strategies and promotional campaigns. Work collaboratively with Sales, Partners and Service Operations to pursue, support and win deals within global regions.
- Conduct market research to define services pricing in line with industry expectations and competitive offerings.
- Develop sales collateral and ensure channels understand Service value propositions.
- Ownership of Service portfolio setup and maintenance in VIAVI ERP system to facilitate seamless execution of quoting, order management and fulfillment of Service offerings.
- Visit customers and partners worldwide to understand business needs and market applicability of industry calibration standards.

- Improved customer experience with VIAVI Aerospace and Defense via measured adoption rates.
- Bookings growth in overall solution and Services.
- Ability of Service portfolio to support business unit sales and margin objectives.
- Repeatability and sustainability of Service offerings.
Skills and Attributes:
- The position calls for product management experience in hardware product support services and/or RF Test or PNT products. Candidates must have experience with hardware product life cycle and associated calibration and repair services.
- Marketing: Experience in marketing, pricing, and driving programs targeted toward high renewal rates for support and maintenance services.
- Leadership: The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a track record of pushing through cross-functional barriers to get the job done.
- Service Definition: Experience bringing to market complementary service offerings designed to support hardware and software product lines. Understanding of product development life cycle and the business practices required to develop and evaluate business case for complementary services.
- Relationships: Successful track record of developing strong, productive relationships across organizational boundaries. The candidate will possess the ability to attain high levels of credibility with customers, R&D, and internal management – confident, able to effectively and positively communicate, instils trust in the commitments given both internally and to our customers.
- Influence: Ability to collaborate and influence people and organizations inside and outside immediate responsibilities. Track record of change management and building support at all levels in an organization.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
Business Acumen: Excellent business knowledge and financial awareness.
Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:
Education/Experience:
- BS degree required. Advanced degree desired.
- 4 years of experience in Services Marketing or Product Management.
- ITAR Eligibility (US Person) Required
