Overview: The Dispensary Assistant Manager plays a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service by educating customers, accurately processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with all state and local regulations. This position supports the Dispensary Manager in overseeing daily operations and providing leadership on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities:
People Management
- Assist in developing, delivering, and overseeing individual training plans.
- Partner with the Dispensary Manager to provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Participate in the annual employee evaluation process by providing objective performance feedback, including 360 reviews, peer reviews, and stacked rankings.
Business Process Management
- Champion and adhere to environmental health and safety guidelines.
- Implement and follow procedures for opening, operating, and closing the retail store.
- Support a culture of continuous improvement within retail operations.
- Interface with regulators and law enforcement as required.
- Uphold company core values in all professional settings, including on social media and in the community.
- Engage in team-building, leadership, and corporate development activities.
- Report all adverse events and participate in or lead deviation investigations.
- Support corporate initiatives as directed.
Business Performance Management
- Assist in scheduling resources efficiently to meet business demands.
- Communicate daily operational details to stakeholders as needed.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance in all transactions, including sales, inventory intake and reconciliation, and waste management.
- Maintain a clean, compliant, inviting, and professional sales floor and lobby.
- Implement and adhere to inventory management and reconciliation procedures.
- Stay informed about state and local laws, regulations, and industry trends.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse team within a fast-paced, heavily regulated environment.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to achieving success.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in the regulated cannabis industry required.
- Expert-level knowledge of cannabis strains, genetics, cultivation, and infused products.
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and adaptable in high-pressure situations.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Must be at least 21 years old and pass a criminal background check.
- Minimum of two years of progressively responsible retail experience.
- Solid understanding of inventory management practices.
- Strong background in dispensary management.
- Willingness and ability to adapt to a fluid schedule and shifting priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, electronic POS systems, and general computer literacy.

- Compliance with deviation management plans.
- Zero reportable or recordable workplace accidents.

- Inventory is reconciled per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
