Job Title: Vice President, Credit Review (Examiner-In-Charge)
Location: This is a Hybrid Role that can be based out of New York City, Los Angeles or Tampa.
About the Role:
Vibe Talent is partnering with a leading financial institution to find an experienced Credit Examiner to join their team. In this role, you will conduct comprehensive assessments of enterprise-wide risk management practices, evaluate the quality of risk assets, and ensure the effectiveness of credit, trading, and concentration risk controls. Key Responsibilities:
Risk Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Monitor risk asset portfolios to identify deterioration or negative trends and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
- Prepare Risk Profile & Monitoring Plans, highlighting key risk factors and resource allocation strategies.
Credit Analysis and Process Evaluation:
- Analyze individual credits and relationships for quality, adherence to approval conditions, and risk grading accuracy.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of credit risk process controls, analyzing credit files, financial documents, and industry trends to identify portfolio risks.
Data and Trend Analysis:
- Assess MIS data to identify adverse trends and evaluate leading and lagging performance indicators.
Examination Leadership:
- Serve as Examiner-In-Charge (EIC) for complex portfolios, coordinating on-site activities and ensuring quality control of transactional reviews.
- Prepare and deliver concise examination reports to senior management, highlighting significant issues and providing actionable feedback.
Technical Guidance and Reporting:
- Provide technical guidance to business units on credit policies and control procedures.
- Write detailed, clear reports for senior management, supporting risk management strategies and outcomes.
Leadership and Mentorship:
- Offer leadership, training, and guidance to junior examiners, fostering team development and knowledge sharing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience: 15 years of relevant experience in lending or examination, with expertise in commercial real estate and commercial lending.
- Industry Knowledge: Broad familiarity with sectors like Oil & Gas, Project Finance, Power & Utilities, Asset-Based Lending, Leasing, and Structured Finance across U.S., Canada, Latin America, and Asia.
- Skills: Strong understanding of credit processes, risk management techniques, corporate finance concepts, and portfolio trend analysis.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business or a related field.
- Communication: Exceptional leadership, oral, and written communication skills, including the ability to convey sensitive issues to senior management effectively.
