Responsibilities:
- Direct and oversee the activities of the Engineering group.
- Direct and coordinate plant Maintenance Department.
- Design, develop and implement automated systems to perform specific tasks.
- Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design, programming, testing, debugging and maintaining automation equipment and processes.
- Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
- Improve efficiency, reduce waste, lower costs and enhance productivity.
- Draws preliminary sketches and prepares layout and detail drawings.
- Oversees modifications to tool designs according to trial or production service data to improve tool life or performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical or Industrial is preferred
- 10 years engineering experience in Controls and Automation in a manufacturing plant environment; 5 years or more of management in a plant setting.
- Automation including robotics; Project Management; PLCs including selecting and programming is required
- Process improvement and lean manufacturing; in an Automotive manufacturing environment is preferred
