Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant II to join our team. The ideal candidate will have advanced skills in chairside assisting, a passion for patient care, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This role requires excellent communication, attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring an exceptional patient experience.
This position is part-time with a possibility of full-time.
Key Responsibilities
Chairside Assistance
- Assist the dentist during a wide range of procedures, including restorative, surgical, and cosmetic treatments.
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all instruments, materials, and equipment are ready for procedures.
- Provide post-operative instructions to patients as directed by the dentist.
Patient Care
- Welcome and comfort patients before, during, and after their procedures.
- Take and record vital signs and medical histories as needed.
- Ensure patients understand their treatment plans and address any immediate concerns.
- Utilize dental terminology to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
Clinical Support
- Take and process dental X-rays with proficiency and accuracy.
- Perform 3D scanning and assist with prosthodontics and endodontics tasks.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform lab tasks, such as pouring models, creating temporary restorations, and polishing restorations.
- Maintain compliance with infection control and sterilization protocols to ensure a safe clinical environment.
Administrative Support
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the practice management software.
- Assist in scheduling follow-up appointments and coordinating patient treatment plans.
- Collaborate with the dental team to enhance patient flow and office efficiency.
Inventory and Equipment Management
- Monitor, order, and restock clinical supplies to ensure the office is always well-prepared.
- Assist with routine equipment maintenance and report any issues promptly.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program.
- Certification in radiography (X-ray license).
- Current CPR certification.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Dental Assistant, preferably in a general or cosmetic practice.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong technical skills in chairside assisting and dental procedures.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, materials, and instruments.
- Proficiency in dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain a calm and positive demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 32 per week
