About the Role
A Real Estate Developer in Ashburn, VA, is seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Assistant and Property Manager / Bookkeeper. This position requires a skilled professional eager to manage both financial operations and property management responsibilities. The ideal candidate is proactive, solution-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Experience with Yardi Breeze and Quickbooks is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations, ensuring accurate financial records.
- Prepare and review monthly and quarterly financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Maintain compliance with GAAP standards by recording journal entries and reviewing financial data.
- Oversee budgets and perform profit and loss (P&L) analyses, cost tracking, and service contract management.
- Prepare tenant billings.
- Assist with lease administration, including new lease setup, renewals, and tenant communications.
- Coordinate tenant inquiries, resolve issues professionally, and maintain exceptional customer service.
- Monitor property maintenance schedules, ensuring timely completion of work orders and inspections.
- Manage vendor relationships, including service contracts, invoices, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure the property is well-maintained, aesthetically pleasing, and compliant with regulations.
- Assist in developing and executing marketing and leasing strategies in collaboration with asset managers or owners to meet property performance objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping experience, ideally in property management or a related industry.
- Proficiency in Yardi Breeze and Quickbooks preferred but not required, along with strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to maintain professionalism under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, utilizing proper grammar and style.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
