Job Description: Tasting Room Staff/Social Media Manager

Vibrant Shore Brewing Company is a Craft Brewery in the ViBe Creative District of Virginia Beach. We are looking for a motivated, upbeat, extroverted, non-smoking, reliable individual with a passion for craft beer and outstanding customer service to work in the tasting room. This person will also enjoy and have the skills and talent to manage the breweries Social Media and Marketing.

Essential Duties, Skills, and Responsibilities of Tasting Room Staff:

• Customer Interaction: Excellent people skills; able to project a friendly and helpful manner at all times.
• Work Efficiency: Able to perform quality work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Flexibility: Able to be responsive and flexible at last-minute requests.
• Work Environment: Able to work in a loud environment.
• Sales and Promotion: Effectively suggest and sell beer and brewery merchandise to customers while sharing brewery information.
• Event Support: Available to work special events at the brewery or other locations after hours if and when needed.
• POS Transactions: Handles routine POS transactions.
• Product Knowledge: Acquires and maintains a thorough knowledge of the brewery and our beer.
• Cleanliness: Cleans the facility as needed/required.
• Safety and Hygiene: Responsible for safety and excellent personal hygiene standards at all times.
• Teamwork: Work as a team member in a team environment.

Essential Duties, Skills, and Responsibilities of Social Media Manager:

• Content Creation: Create engaging text, image, and video/reel content.
• Account Management: Oversee social media accounts’ layout, update website.
• Platform Updates: Stay up-to-date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness.
• Customer Interaction: Facilitate online conversations with customers and respond to queries.
• Scheduling: Develop an optimal posting schedule, considering web traffic and customer engagement metrics.
• Innovative Marketing: Suggest new ways to attract prospective customers, like promotions and competitions. Create FB/IG ads, email promotions through square and website.
• Community Building: Build relationships with businesses to cross-promote and build community.

Qualifications:

• Availability: Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings. Winter hours of business operation are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 4-10pm, Friday 4-11pm, Saturday 1pm-11pm, Sunday 1 pm-8:30pm with additional time for set up and closing duties. Shifts may be 4-10 hours long.
• Compensation: This position is a tipped position in addition to the base pay. Additional compensation for Social Media creation.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent and/or qualified experience required. Prefer college degree.
• Age: Be at least 21 years of age, honest and hard-working.
• Beer Knowledge: Must be able to sample various types of beer and have enthusiasm and interest in learning about craft beer and the brewing process.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with staff, customers, and vendors.
• Initiative and Adaptability: Ability to take the initiative, work with minimal supervision, be flexible, and adaptable to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment as well as during slower periods of business.
• Team Player: Be an exceptional team player with the ability to work independently as well as with others.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to stay organized and implement and follow standard operating guidelines and procedures.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours at a time; able to lift and move up to 50 pounds; bend, stoop, push, and pull.
• Safety Compliance: Ability to work with hazardous cleaning chemicals.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
