Reporting into the Production Supervisor, the part-time General Laborer will be based out of Baltimore, MD and will be responsible for supporting daily production operations within a unionized chemical manufacturing environment. This role will focus on assisting with performing general laborer tasks, material handling, equipment support, housekeeping, and basic production tasks to ensure a safe, efficient, and high-quality operation. The General Laborer will follow established safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and quality guidelines while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the production department.
Pay and Union
The pay for this position is $31.36 per hour. This position will be part of the United Steelworkers (USW) union upon successful completion of the probationary period.

Responsibilities
- Assist production operators with material handling, loading, and unloading raw materials and finished goods.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the production area by sweeping, mopping, and disposing of waste materials properly.
- Perform general housekeeping duties to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Handle and utilize proper packaging supplies for finished products.
- Perform routine quality checks to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness in production and storage areas.
- Return materials to designated storage locations and organize work areas efficiently.
- Support production staff with equipment setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
- Perform other duties as assigned to maintain an efficient operation.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
- Good hand-eye coordination and ability to operate machinery safely.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to wear appropriate PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, respirators, and steel-toe boots.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting required.
Required Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or warehouse environment preferred.
- Previous experience as a chemical operator, mechanic, or heavy equipment operator is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is a plus.
- Forklift experience or certification is preferred.
Schedule
- This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule based on production needs. Hours may vary, including weekends and holidays, as necessary.
- Part-time up to 30 hours per week.
Additional Requirement
