Job Function
As the Warehouse Manager, reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you'll be at the heart of our operations in Ashtabula, OH. You'll oversee the seamless flow of raw materials and supplies, ensuring our products are shipped out on time and in perfect condition.
Responsibilities
- Designates storage locations of materials to ensure both safe and effective utilization of warehouse space.
- Ensures that materials are delivered to Production areas to support operational plans.
- Responsible for setting up both incoming/outgoing deliveries.
- Directs final inspection of packaging, labelling, and shipping document preparation.
- Coordinates notification of carriers and schedules delivery.
- Maintains an active safety program with direct reports. Actively participates in Site Leadership Safety Audits, 5S Program, job safety training, and enforcement of all general plant safety rules.
- Supervises personnel assigned to the Warehouse area ensuring that training schedules are developed and maintained.
- Monitors the Warehouse areas for cost effective operations, reporting to management needs and suggestions that could reduce operating expenses.
- Establishes and maintains both records and reports as directed by the Plant Manager.
- Responsible for inventory control at both the Ashtabula site and outside warehouses.
- Works with the Warehouse Team to perform routine cycle counts on both raw materials and finished goods.
- Responsible for conducting physical inventory at both the Ashtabula site and Outside Warehouses.
- Site SAP Super User assisting others to troubleshoot problems and assist with development/testing of the business planning system as needed.
Required Experience
- 5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, and warehousing processes, including products, raw materials, and ERP computer systems.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, along with basic math, team leadership, and analytical abilities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of BMS procedures and work instructions related to shipping, receiving, and warehousing.
