This position will lead our team of talented software engineers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products.
Vibration Research designs and manufactures leading edge vibration control systems for electrodynamic and servohydraulic shakers, as well as portable dynamic signal analyzers. As our Software Development Manager, your focus will be:
Team Leadership
- Mentor, lead, develop and direct product software engineering staff.
- Develop, implement, and track individual performance metrics to ensure team members meet their goals and contribute to the overall success of the team.
Product Quality
- Ensure engineering excellence by developing rigorous testing protocol
- Verify system and program operation by directing, performing, and completing testing protocol.
- Follow the established software development lifecycle process.
- Ensure that final project matches product specifications.
Project Management
- Provide development project updates to Sr. leadership on a regular basis.
- Assess the types of people, time, and other resources that will be needed on development projects. Allocate resources accordingly.
- Sets attainable goals to team members to complete projects on time
- Identify and implement work process improvements, including implementing new technology if necessary
Stakeholder Engagement
- Support released software for customers and marketing and sales staff.
- Work closely with Marketing, Sales, and Research groups to develop systems and programs supporting corporate goals and objectives.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between the software engineering team, sales team, and customers to ensure alignment on product requirements and deliverables.
We believe a successful Software Development Manager will need to come equipped with:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field required. Master’s Degree Preferred.
- 5- 10 years of software development experience required with 5 years leading a team of software developers
- Ability to lead and provide direct supervision
- Knowledge of mechanical/hardware design and engineering and integration
- Proficiency with electronic testing design, systems, management, troubleshooting and production technologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong product knowledge
