Vicarious Surgical is hiring a Quality Inspector to join our team in Waltham, MA.
Vicarious Surgical is a next generation robotics company developing a disruptive technology with the goal of increasing the efficiency of surgical procedure, improving patient outcomes and reducing healthcare costs.
This is a terrific opportunity for an experienced Quality Inspector professional to join our company at a very exciting time and be a key member of a team of mission-driven and kind individuals with diverse experiences to lead Vicarious into its next phase of hyper-growth and market disruption. This is an onsite position (5 days/week).
Responsibilities
- Perform incoming, in-process and finished goods inspections to assure that product and documentation meets design requirements by using all aspects of GD&T and all associated test methods
- Responsible for the visual and mechanical inspection of machined parts, 3D printed parts and mechanical sub-assemblies to assure the products conform to design specifications
- Responsible for inspection of electrical components including PCBA boards for visual, continuity, and functional features.
- Follow established First Article Inspection procedure and Quality Inspection plans
- Develop and document new inspection test methods, CMM programs, Optical CMM programing and fixturing
- Develop and maintain the Design History Record (DHR) for each incoming and finished product
- Develop and maintain all the incoming inspection logs, forms, and test records
- Support equipment identification and routine calibration maintenance.
About You
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 4 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Extensive knowledge of inspection techniques, GD&T tolerancing and test equipment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and component specifications and apply appropriate metrology methods to inspect components associated with these documents
- ESD training, IPC620 and IPC610 certifications preferred
- Ability to effectively present information electronically and orally in one on one and small group situations to employees and suppliers
- Start-up medical device experience and experience in a fast-paced development environment
- Strong skills in word processing, spreadsheets, manufacturing and database software
