The primary responsibility of the Administrator – Absence Management is responsible for overseeing and administering leave requests and special accommodations, particularly those arising under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and other related state and local leave laws, paid parental leaves, and all other leave of absence policies.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.
- Maintain highly confidential information regarding Leaves of Absence and ADA accommodation.
- Handles the FMLA leave administration process from the initial notice of the need for leave to the return to work. This includes gathering and completing all required paperwork, determining leave eligibility, designating leave as FMLA-qualifying, requesting applicable certification as needed, and accounting for intermittent and reduced schedule leave use.
- Communicate with Team Members regarding their needs for leave and/or accommodations.
- Ensure Team Members are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice required to qualify for and to take leave.
- Maintain on-going communication with Team Members and departments on leave to facilitate smooth and timely return to work.
- Communicate outcomes, document acknowledgement or denial of accommodation to the Team Member, department, and Human Resources.
- Keep informed of legal and/or regulatory changes to leave of absence laws.
- Consult, coordinate, and partner with HR - Team Member Relations and HRIS, Safety, Payroll, Benefits as appropriate.
- Escalate complex issues to the Sr. Manager - Absence Management when appropriate.
- Maintain system records to ensure accurate and timely information/documentation.
- Work on actual project or service to help achieve the objectives of the department.
- Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- 21 years of age
- Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain required licenses and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
- 2 years’ experience in case management or providing support to employees specifically relating to disability and leave of absence.
- 2 years’ experience working in Human Resources.
- Must possess excellent time management skills and ownership of deliverables.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Previous experience with HRIS systems.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Lift or carry 10 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
- Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
- Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
- Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend, and kneel.
- Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
