The Bidermann Agronomy Team takes pride in its friendly, teamwork-centric, positive working environment. These values are critical and go together with the following responsibilities, but not limited to : Course and Grounds Clean up Procedures, Precision Mowing Equipment Operation, Proper Golf Course Set-Up Practices, Safely Lifting Objects of up to 50lbs at Times, Detail String-Trimming, Backpack Blower Operation, Hose Watering, Landscape Bed Maintenance, and Sand Trap / Bunker Maintenance Procedures. Groundskeepers / Equipment Operators primarily work under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent and Lead Assistant Superintendent. Occasionally Groundskeepers / Equipment Operators may work under the supervision of other Assistant Superintendents, Assistant-in-Training(s), or an Experienced Equipment Operator.
A Groundskeeper / Equipment Operator is expected to be able to complete a large variety of tasks throughout the day. Related tasks can be generally categorized as manual labor and closely resemble landscaping. Golf Course maintenance tasks include safely operating different types of walking lawn mowers, raking of debris, use of string trimmers, operation of powered debris blowers, and operation of other motorized equipment.

Weekend availability is required in Golf Season (every other) from April to November
Spanish Speaking Skills are a plus but not necessary.
Ability to walk up to 3 miles potentially on daily basis.
Ability to safely push / pull up to 50 lbs. of weight potentially on daily basis.
Physical Requirements for Common Tasks as a Groundskeeper / Equipment Operator-
- Precision Turf Maintenance Mowing Operations : Ability to proficiently operate Walk-behind, Triplex, and larger mowing machinery specific for maintenance of Golf Course Putting Greens, Tees, Approaches, Fairways, Intermediates, Roughs, and Native Fescues with cleanliness and care after proper training. Requires the ability to walk, sit, and bend over to lift and empty grass clippings from catchers (if present) for extended periods of time. Typical Length of Job : 3-7 Hours
- Operating Utility Tractors- Equipment Operators may operate various size tractors ranging from 20hp to 60hp. Must have ability to reach all levers and be highly trained in the ability to operate the equipment. Tractors are often equipped with front end loaders, backhoes, and a large variety of attachments. Operators must be physically able to mount and dismount tractor and be able to readily access all controls. Typical length of job : 1 to 7 hours.
- Sand Bunker Maintenance- walk at steady pace for up to four hours with breaks as necessary. Light pulling and pushing is required to use a rake to smooth sand ensuring proper playability for the golfer. The ability to walk on steep slopes is required. Ability to operate a handheld blower is required. Typical length of job : 4 hours.
- String Trimmer Operation- Ability to stand for majority of shift. Ability to operate commercial string trimmer proficiently with care to maintained surfaces. Ability to handle unit that weighs approximately 12lbs. Frequent light lifting, twisting, and pulling is required to complete this task. Typical length of job : 1 to 6 hours.
- Collection of leaves, debris, or trash – Light lifting and raking typically required. Most pieces of debris or trash weigh less than 5lbs. Large trash receptacles may weigh up to 50lbs at times. Frequent bending or squatting required. Typical length of job : 1 to 6 hours.
- Hand Watering Procedures- Ability to pull and easily handle approximately 40lb water hose. Frequent squatting and bending required. Typical length of job : 4 hours.
- Tree Work – Ability to assist with removal of tree debris. Lifting of up to 50lbs unassisted, and up to 80lbs assisted required. Also requires raking and shoveling of debris. Typical Length of Job : 1 to 4 hours.
- Irrigation Repair – All employees may be called upon to assist the Irrigation Technician with repairs. Irrigation repair requires the ability to bend, squat, lift, pull, and push repeatedly. Many times this task requires shoveling of dirt or rock, and removal of materials. Typical Length of Job : 1-3 hours.
- Equipment Care : Equipment Operators are expected to treat all equipment and tools with respect and care. After each use, unless directed otherwise, equipment should be cleaned and properly stored in its correct storage location after proper training. If mechanical issues arise, they should be immediately reported to Equipment Manager. Typical Length of Job : 0.5 to 1 hour.
Note : The tasks listed above are common daily tasks required by golf course employees. Not all employees are trained or required to complete every task. In addition, some tasks are seasonal in nature. Employees may be required to complete tasks not listed above.
