- Capacity planning
- Cycle time
- Resource Staffing recommendations
- Inventory management and levels
Job Description
Communication:
- Attend daily production meetings to understand all upstream and downstream WIP planning
- Be responsible for communicating plating status
- Any planned down time/maintenance, shutdowns etc.
- Plan all down time with all other areas of the factory
- Communicate overall factory demand and needs to the plating operation
- Lead a daily production meeting with the plating group
- Identify short term volume forecast and business needs to ensure proper staffing across all shifts
- Identify long term business demands to model and ensure sufficient equipment capacity and staffing to maintain consistent cycle times
- Manage daily production meetings to communicate critical customer or engineering jobs. Actively work with shift supervisors to ensure critical jobs are prioritized to meet required time schedules
- Communicate and track daily WIP movement/priorities
- Triage and address any gap in requirements to daily performance
- Manage supervisor staffing/personnel
- Fill in and support (hands on) any gaps in coverage
- Support all critical end of quarter WIP movement
- May require occasional second shift and weekend support
- Through put as a function of cycle time
- Cost metrics
- Machine utilization etc
- Publish all metrics on a daily/weekly roll up
- Use the metrics to drive material flow resource planning, etc.
- Develop a cost model for the plating department
- Use to help track efficiency and make recommendations for change.
- BS in Engineering, Business, Operations or Management.
- 8 year’s of experience working in high-tech manufacturing production.
- Experience working in both new production introduction and high volume environment
- Working knowledge of ERP systems
- Proven record of attracting, selecting, training, developing and managing staff
- Demonstrated experience utilizing world class manufacturing techniques such as SPC, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, 8D, etc.
