Scope: As a Quality Systems Engineer (QSE) your primary focus will consist of managing and maintaining the Quality Management System, ensuring that it is always audit ready. Additionally, the QSE will lead internal audits, pinpointing areas for improvement and making sure corrective actions are followed through. The role involves working closely with the Operations, Engineering and Supply Chain teams to ensure quality is upheld at every stage of manufacturing. You will work to Maintain accreditations, liaising with external auditors and certification bodies.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for supporting all elements of Victaulic manufacturing quality systems including new process qualifications, process re-evaluation, non-conforming material containment, root cause analysis and other corrective and preventive initiatives. Assist facility QA teams in understanding and implementing Victaulic specifications.
- In partnership with plant quality leaders, collaborate to identify best practices and implement standard work aimed at improving quality results.
- Provide support as necessary for existing product lines and Victaulic manufacturing facilities. These activities include, but are not limited to: Engineering Change Control, process improvements, and product improvements.
- Improving Internal Quality processes (such as incoming inspection, claims handling, measuring and monitoring of processes) and offer Quality Management support to other departments (Supply Chain, Customer Care, warehousing, etc.) in order to improve internal processes and to maintain ISO 9001:2015 certification.
- Serve as department liaison for new product development initiatives. Actively participate in product design reviews, Advanced Quality Planning, design & process FMEA’s, mistake proofing and other quality new product development activities.
- Manage the development and maintenance of internal technical specifications and testing methods commensurate with tolerance sensitivities and part complexity.
- Initiate product / process reviews related to warranty claims/customer complaints.
- Perform trend analysis and establish ongoing manufacturing / quality metrics.
- Conduct routine reviews through random audits of the related manufacturing processes and products.
- Other initiatives and projects as directed by the Global Quality Assurance Director or Manager.
- Engineering Degree or equivalent experience required. Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt a plus.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a global Manufacturing, Quality, or Engineering organization.
- Experience working in a quality-focused role with previous experience of quality systems.
- Audit & audit management experience (ISO9001 lead auditor preferred but not essential).
- Good IT skills: Word, Excel, SAP and excellent communication skills.
- A good, working understanding of quality management systems.
- Ability to work under own initiative without direct supervision as part of the quality team.
- Working knowledge of quality tools (such as APQP, FMEA, 6 Sigma, 8D, 5 Why) would be advantageous.
- Experience in aerospace/forging industry would be advantageous.
- Experience of working with customers, suppliers and awarding bodies.
- Knowledge of OEM technical requirements would be advantageous.
- Academic qualifications (i.e. HNC / ONC / Degree).
- Alternatively, appropriate demonstrable experience will be considered.
