What You'll Do :
- Lead and Inspire : Supervise and mentor a team of buyers and manufacturing buyer / planners, ensuring smooth operations and addressing any personnel issues.
- Collaborate : Work closely with departmental managers to determine material quantities needed to meet operational requirements.
- Train and Develop : Identify and address the training needs of your team to ensure they are equipped with the skills to excel.
- Optimize Sourcing : Partner with other Victaulic locations to find the best vendors and products, ensuring top quality and competitive pricing.
- Ensure Timeliness : Work with internal departments to achieve a 97% on-time manufacturing performance, ensuring materials are available when needed.
- Innovate : Play a key role in new product launches within the facility.
- Strategize : Develop strategic sourcing initiatives and find alternative sources for goods by collaborating with vendors, Engineering, and QA / QC Departments.
- Monitor and Improve : Keep a close eye on inventory levels, Kanban cards, and reorder points, taking corrective actions as needed.
- Negotiate : Liaise with the Corporate Sourcing team to negotiate favorable pricing and delivery terms with vendors.
- Report and Analyze : Prepare comprehensive reports to evaluate the performance of the inventory team.
- Quality Assurance : Ensure all received goods meet Victaulic’s quality standards and oversee inventory audits and cycle counts.
