JOB SUMMARY

Salary Range: $66,560 - $87,100 Annually - DOE

The Community Services Supervisor is directly responsible to the Executive Director for the day-to-day operations of the program services. The Community Services Supervisor manages the functioning of service delivery teams, which provide a wide array of community-based youth and family support services. These services may include child and family team planning, resource acquisition, case management and linkage, interagency collaboration, prevention and early intervention, outreach and engagement functions, and community education activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Monitors and controls the delivery of community service programs in accordance with Agency standards and acceptable professional practices.
  2. Monitors and ensures that documentation and case records are developed and maintained in accordance with Agency and all relevant funding stream requirements.
  3. Provides supervision and performance management of program staff.
  4. In partnership with the Executive Director, develops, maintains, and assures implementation of on-the-job training and orientation of new staff.
  5. Provides support and oversight of specific program referral and intake processes, as well as collaborating with stakeholders regarding access to services by identified target populations; maintains high quality service delivery and good working relations within the community being served.
  6. Implements and maintains quality assurance systems and reporting programs related to community services and participates on Quality Improvement teams as assigned.
  7. Provides direct community-based services as needed to ensure program and service delivery continuity.
  8. Develops and maintains effective relationships with community agencies and stakeholders such as Social Services, Adult and Juvenile Justice, Mental Health, and education.
  9. Provides on-call services for service delivery team as needed.
  10. Completes other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Bachelors’ degree in a behavioral science field, in addition to demonstrated leadership or supervisory qualities, skills, and abilities.
  2. Must have verbal and writing skills in the English language, and the ability to write concise, informative professional reports and all assigned documentation in a timely manner.

POSITION/PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Must possess a valid California driver's license, personal automobile insurance and driving record that meets the standards outlined in the Agency’s Personnel Policy: Motor Vehicle Operating Standards.
  2. Must be physically and mentally fit in accordance with the Agency’s Personnel Policy: Physical Fitness Standards and Examinations. Must be willing to complete a Tuberculosis (TB) test, drug screening test and provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination(s).
  3. Must be willing to complete a personal background investigation conducted by the State of California.
  4. Must obtain First Aid Certification. Must obtain a CPR Certification (only when required by local county or program).
  5. Must be flexible to work nights and weekends, may need to work a split-shift, varying schedule according to operational need.
  6. Must be willing to work within a culturally integrated workplace and be willing to respect human differences based upon protected classes as defined by state, federal and local laws, or any other condition that distinguishes people from one another.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Have an adequate range of body motion and mobility to work in a residential, office or outdoor environment including standing and walking (even and uneven surfaces), alternating between standing and sitting for extended periods of time, bending, kneeling, twisting, reaching balancing and occasional carrying and lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally, and up to 10 pounds frequently.
  2. Physically able to walk up and down stairs routinely.
  3. Physically able to perform CPR and First Aid as trained.
  4. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in a vehicle for traveling to recreational activities, home visits, DCFS and court locations which may be up to 100 miles driving distance.
  5. Requires the ability to utilize computer and telephone systems, which includes the coordination of eye and hand and fine manipulation by the hands and fingers for typing, writing and working with files.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Completion of a clinical program with a Masters’ or Ph.D. degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related field of behavioral or medical science from an accredited educational institution.
  2. Previous work with severely emotionally disturbed children, seriously mentally ill adults, and at risk families.
  3. Possess basic knowledge related to public regulations and guidelines governing the operations of mental health and social service programs.
  4. Previous experience working within a MediCal certified site and familiarity with MediCal billable standards and expectations.
  5. Knowledge of, and experience with, the Mental Health Services Act funding streams, programming, and stakeholder processes.
