Job Summary
The Account Manager manages and grows key customer relationships within the HVAC industry. Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Sales Growth
- Develop and manage strong, long-term relationships with HVAC contractors and business customers.
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring excellent customer service and engagement.
- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities to expand product adoption within existing accounts.
- Collaborate with inside sales, purchasing, and distribution teams to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Conduct account reviews to understand customer needs, purchasing trends, and growth opportunities.
Sales & Revenue Optimization
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned accounts and regions.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements while ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Educate clients on product benefits, promotions, and new industry trends to enhance business operations.
- Develop and execute account growth strategies to maximize sales potential.
Customer Engagement & Retention
- Act as a customer advocate, ensuring their needs are met with the best solutions available.
- Partner with internal teams to address order discrepancies, pricing requests, and service concerns.
- Conduct regular follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and proactively address any issues.
- Handle customer escalations and provide solutions to strengthen relationships and prevent churn.
Industry Expertise & Market Knowledge
- Stay current on HVAC industry trends, new products, and competitor activity.
- Educate clients on new product offerings, technology advancements, and best practices.
- Represent Victor Distributing Company at trade shows, industry events, and client meetings.
Collaboration & Reporting
- Work closely with the sales team, marketing, and operations to ensure seamless customer service and account management.
- Utilize CRM software Sales-i to document client interactions and track performance.
- Provide regular reports and insights into customer feedback, market trends, and sales performance.
Qualifications & Experience
✅ Required:
- 3 years of experience in sales, account management, or customer relations, preferably in the HVAC, construction, or wholesale distribution industry.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC products, parts, and supply chain processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to travel locally to meet clients and attend industry events.
✅ Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, or a related field.
- Experience working in wholesale distribution.
- Familiarity with ERP systems like SAP, QuickBooks Enterprise, or ADP.
Physical & Work Environment
📍Physical Demands:
- Frequent standing, walking, and driving – The Account Manager will spend a significant portion of their time meeting clients at job sites, offices, and warehouses. This requires regular local travel using a personal vehicle (with mileage reimbursement).
- Sitting for extended periods – While much of the work involves travel and on-site meetings, administrative tasks such as responding to emails, processing orders, and CRM data entry will require prolonged sitting at a desk.
- Lifting & Carrying – The role occasionally requires lifting, transporting, and demonstrating HVAC product samples, catalogs, marketing materials, and promotional items weighing up to 25 lbs. Some products may be heavier and require team lifting or material handling equipment.
- Reaching, bending, and crouching – The Account Manager may need to physically inspect HVAC products, retrieve materials from stock areas, and assist in loading/unloading promotional or training equipment for customer presentations.
- Speaking & Listening – Clear verbal communication is critical when interacting with clients, providing technical product information, and negotiating deals. This role requires excellent auditory ability for phone conversations, video meetings, and in-person discussions in noisy environments such as construction sites or warehouses.

- Hybrid Work Setting – The role requires office work, client site visits, and warehouse exposure.
- Warehouse/Shop Exposure – Visiting HVAC warehouses or contractor job sites may expose the employee to:
