What are the responsibilities and job description for the Offset Printing Press Operator position at Victor Printing Inc?
OFFSET PRESS OPERATOR
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform all press operations
- Report accurate cost accounting data in shop station
- Accurate inventory accounting with warehouse personnel
- Detect and report to the department supervisor: defective materials, questionable conditions or errors
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations
- Perform prescribed preventative or necessary maintenance as required
- Mix ink and cut stock if necessary
- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School graduate or equivalent and two years press experience or training
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Proficient with basic hand held measuring tools/line gauge, micrometer
- Basic math/mechanical skills
- Must be able to read and comprehend spec sheets
- Must be able to set up and adjust all aspects of press
- Ability to work as a team with co-workers and opposing shifts
- Problem solving abilities
- Basic computer skills
REPORTS TO:
Plant Manager
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Required to sit, stand, and move about the facility
- Able to lift 75 lbs
- Must pass pre-employment physical to include testing for color blindness
- Subject to random drug and alcohol testing
- Regularly exposed to dust, odors, and noise
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
