DEFINITION OF POSITION:

BASIC FUNCTIONS:
The Principal leads, manages, and oversees all functions of the school site, including the education program to ensure academic performance of students, budget to ensure fiscal solvency of site, school operations, community relations, and facilities management.
It is the duty and responsibility of the principal to guide and direct the total operation of the ninth to twelfth grade school in all areas, including business management, leadership and direction of the instructional program, and supervise and evaluate the co- administrators, teachers, and staff (certificated and classified) within the framework of district policy. In addition, the principal will coordinate all athletics and activities for the school and will facilitate collaboration with stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of the site.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The principal is responsible for the administration, supervision, and evaluation of his/her school and school programs.
- Maintain and carry out adopted policies of the Governing Board and of the District administration.
- Shall be responsible for the appraisal and evaluation of the educational program.
- Direct the supervision and evaluation of all certificated and classified personnel.
- Make recommendations for staff assignment, transfer, promotion, probation and discipline.
- Direct the development and implementation of programs relating to student discipline.
- Shall work closely with the Superintendent in developing the general philosophy of education for the school.
- Direct the development and administration of the operating budget of the school.
- Shall work with the members of the staff in developing the school curriculum and coordinating it with the counseling and guidance program.
- Shall delegate functions and responsibilities to qualified assistants in such manner that the total program operates effectively and provides in-service training for professional growth.
- Shall organize and maintain a process providing input concerning the whole program from the community, parents/guardians and students.
- Shall direct and coordinate school level public relations.
- Shall be responsible for the school safety program that shall comply with the requirements of the Education Code, Labor Code, and California Occupational Safety and Health Act.
- Supervise Athletics and Activities.
- Perform regular classroom teaching as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary : $166,223 - $202,051
