The Division of Allied health is recruiting for a Part Time Nursing Success Coach. This position is a grant funded support position for the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program to assist in student success. The Nursing Success Coach performs the following functions to assist with student recruitment and retention. Duties of this position includes: student remediation, mentoring and tutoring to nursing students, monitor student academic success, and to implement student success initiatives. This position will work and collaborate with the ADN Program Chair and faculty.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
1. Providing support to the program in the recruitment and retention for the ADN Program.2. Collaborating with the ADN Program Chair and Nursing faculty to in early identification, intervention, and remediation of ADN students. 3. Supporting Spanish-speaking and bilingual students in the comprehension of nursing content. 4. Supporting students learning through remediation sessions and one-on-one meetings to improve course performance.5. Provides individual and group instructional sessions based on student/program needs.6. Utilizing full integration of ATI tools and resources in student meetings to provide guidance on academic performance.7. Creating methods of integrating strategies to increase test taking skills, study skills, and note taking skills to increase course performance.8. Collaborating with faculty to identify below-standard student performance and implements individualized action plans based on student learning needs.9. Perform Other Duties as Assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle controls, key pads, etc. Will be required to sit and reach with hands and arms as well as, sit, stand, walk, push and pull. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 -50 pounds while loading laboratory supplies and equipment. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, some color vision, and the ability to adjust focus from documents to computer screen. Hearing of light to moderate sound is required by this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
