Position Summary
The VC Gonzales Center is recruiting for a part-time student worker. This position works to logistically support the VC Gonzales Center in various ways. This position assists in answering phones, student events and other general clerical duties as needed. This position assists in the supports of events and department activities.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with performing office duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and responding to student/staff inquiries
- Assist with student events related to the Gonzales Center
- Triage student/employee traffic and assist with students with general questions, processes, and procedures
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Enrollment in minimum of 6 credit hours in the Fall and Spring semester and 3 credit hours in the summer
- English proficiency
- Demonstrate proficient written and oral communication skills
- Friendly and professional attitude and good interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to establish and meet timelines
- Team player who is dependable, punctual, organized, and detail oriented
- Ability to adhere to the highest confidentiality standards on campus
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle controls, key pads, etc. Will be required to sit and reach with hands and arms as well as, sit, stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds while loading event supplies, booth equipment, office supplies and paper. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, some color vision, and the ability to adjust focus from documents to computer screen. Hearing of light to moderate sound is required by this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
