Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activity Assistant to join our team in providing engaging and meaningful activities for residents in our care. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with seniors, particularly those in memory care and independent living settings. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for our tenants through creative event planning and individualized support.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) while promoting independence and dignity.
- Facilitate group activities, including games, arts and crafts, music sessions, and exercise classes.
- Maintain a safe and engaging environment for all participants, ensuring that all necessary materials are available.
- Work hand in hand with the Activities Director to follow through with coordinating and conducting activities.
- Support tenants with memory care needs by providing specialized programming that stimulates cognitive function.
Skills
- Strong background or interest in senior care, particularly in memory care or independent living environments.
- Experience with event planning and the ability to organize engaging activities for diverse groups.
- Excellent schedule management skills to coordinate activities effectively within the facility’s framework.
- Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated to initiate new programs.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
