Job Summary
The Activities Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging recreational and therapeutic activities for residents in a senior care facility. This role requires a compassionate individual who can effectively communicate with residents, families, and staff to enhance the quality of life for seniors. The Activities Director will ensure that all programs are tailored to meet the diverse needs of the residents, fostering a sense of community and well-being.
Responsibilities -
- Plan and implement activities, crafts, music, outings and dinners
- Maintain a calendar of activities and events that provide a variety of experiences
- Manage tenants doctor appointment schedules and provide transportation
- Encourage/promote participation among all tenants
- Plan and provide transportation for outings
- Train, supervise and monitor activity assistant
- Follow monthly activity budget
- Help with SSS fundraising and events
- Bus and van maintenance (gas, oil change, tires, cleanliness, registration, ect.)
Skills-
- Experience in dementia care and working with individuals with disabilities.
- Excellent schedule management skills to coordinate multiple activities effectively.
- Ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with seniors, families, and team members.
- Knowledge of recreational therapy principles to enhance resident engagement.
- Compassionate approach to senior care that fosters trust and connection.
- Creative problem-solving skills to adapt activities based on resident needs.
Shift-
Monday-Friday
8:00am to 5:00pm
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
