What are the responsibilities and job description for the Children's Pastor position at Victory Church?
Summary of the Position
The Pastor of Children’s ministry at Victory Church is responsible for the planning, organization, coordination, administration, and leadership of a comprehensive ministry to children grades K-6 as well as leadership over nursery leaders. While ministry to children is essential in this role, Victory Church is looking for a leader to equip and lead others to minister in order to reach both children and parents in the Canton community.
Essential Functions
- Develop and administer plans to recruit, enlist and train volunteer leaders in the ministry
- Participate in conferences, workshops, and professional organizations to continue personal education in the ministry
- Direct the adoption and implementation of Kids of Victory Sunday Service curriculum consistent with Victory’s objective and policies
- Oversee and organize the day to day operations of the Kids of Victory administration, staff, and volunteers
- Maintain strong communication and relationship with Pastors, staff, and parents to ensure the vision is implemented in all aspects of family ministry
- Strive to work in unity with other staff members while assimilating to our culture at Victory Church
- Recruit, develop, and train high quality leaders for Dream Team Volunteer roles
- Attend and contribute to weekly staff meetings
- Lead and build teams to execute all aspects of children’s ministry services
- Oversee aspects of department administration to include volunteer scheduling, internal and external communication such as social media, planning center, and Church Home app
- Coordinate and lead outreach events to reach children and parents in schools and in the community outside of the Church
- Coordinate various ministerial activities for children into a total program of Christian discipleship (Kids of Victory Sunday Service, events, VBS, kids camp)
- Disciple dream team volunteers to implement KOV Sunday Service curriculum
Experience and Knowledge Required
- Candidate must have a growing and mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Previous work and/or volunteer experience in working with children’s ministry
- Ministry minded focus with the ability to cultivate a team within the ministry and the Church
- Ability to develop, plan, and implement ministry and Church related short and long-term goals
- Must be in agreement with Victory Church’s mission, vision, and statement of faith which lays out key doctrine including Scripture, the Holy Spirit, and church leadership.
- Candidate and candidate's family must eventually transition to membership at Victory Church
- Working another job is acceptable as long as the requirements of this job are met, however it is the candidate’s responsibility to properly communicate to the staff before accepting another job
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $23,400.00 - $26,000.00 per year
