What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kids Ministry Director position at Victory Church?
Description: The Victory Kids Director provides direction for Victory Church’s kids ministry ages birth-5th grade. The Kids Director provides leadership, training, support and oversight to all ministry volunteers. This position is responsible for building a robust, growing children's ministry that utilizes facility management, curriculum selection and implementation, volunteer recruitment/development, children and family events, and equipping of parents to fulfill their calling as the primary spiritual leaders of their children. This position reports directly to the Executive Pastor.
Responsibilities:
• Discipling volunteers, kids, and families in their faith
• Oversee all programming and ministry for children ages birth through 5th grade including Sunday mornings and special events
• Oversee online ministry for preschool and elementary children (social media, online teaching content, downloadable resources, etc.)
• Lead high energy, fun, impactful, biblically relevant programs on Sundays
• Cast vision and provide strategy for the department as it pertains to the overarching vision of Victory Church
• Lead, schedule, train, coach, and build relationships with volunteer teams
• Advocate for and uphold the mission of family-centered ministry
• Recruit leaders to ensure adequate classroom staffing
• Lead regular trainings and team building events for volunteers
• Develop relationships with parents and create programming, systems and networks for them to grow spiritually and relationally.
• Partner with Victory Student Ministry for events as needed to create seamless opportunities for kids to grow in their faith from birth through high school
• Maintain a disciplined life of worship, Bible reading, prayer, fasting, tithing and giving
• Other duties as assigned by the Executive Pastor
Requirements and Skills:
• BA or BS degree in related field; or a combination of education and experience
• Minimum 3 years working in a ministry setting
• Strong Biblical knowledge and ability to teach application
• Sensitivity to the unique physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual needs of children today
• Effective communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal)
• Ability to recruit, develop, support and inspire volunteer teams
• Positive, patient, friendly and professional attitude and demeanor
• Organizational and administrative skills
• Trustworthy, able to anticipate needs without oversight, focus on tasks at hand and efficient follow-through
• General proficiency with Mac applications, Church Community Builder, Basecamp, etc.
• Must agree with and represent Victory Church’s Statement of Faith
Anticipated Time Commitments:
40-50 hours/week
