WHAT WE ARE SEEKING
The best candidates for this position will embody the values and beliefs at the heart of the VCP mission and vision.

They will also meet the following qualifications and possess these preferred skills:

• Bachelor’s degree

• Valid Teacher License (or interest in a licensure program)

• Competency in using technology in the classroom setting

• Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis

• Strong desire to work within an innovative, urban educational program

• Art degree or experience as an art teacher or professional artist preferred but not required

  
  

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL ACCOMPLISH

• Demonstrate the ability to model, deliver learning experiences around Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.

• Demonstrate the ability to create and implement strategies for coordinating diverse, multidisciplinary curricular units over the course of the academic year, eg. robotics building, engineering techniques, design principles.

• Use the state standards and curriculum to create rigorous, objective-driven, lessons aligned with curriculum maps.

• Differentiate for individual students based on their unique learning needs

• Develop standards-aligned, measurable, ambitious big goals that will increase student opportunities for achievement; assess and track performance against these goals.

• Implement classroom procedures, systems, and routines that provide structure for students and maximize instructional time.

• Use data to reflect on effectiveness of lessons and student achievement progress in order to improve instruction and personal practice.

• Encourage parent and community involvement, obtain information for parents when requested, conduct home visits, and promptly return phone calls and answer emails.

• Ability and willingness to work collaboratively; maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships.

• Use feedback from the Principal and CAO to update the Individual Professional Development Plan.
