Job Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as Canvassers. Canvassers are assigned a Field Team Lead and work with up to 10 canvassers in the field daily. Canvasser(s) must be aware that strenuous physical demands are involved. The ideal candidate will have campaign and/or canvass experience and previous experience working with staff for or on behalf of candidates or issue campaigns. Superior customer service, or people skills, must ensure that daily goals and metrics can be met. Canvassers must be able to adapt and change with the dynamics of the election cycle or campaign deadlines. This position reports directly to the Field Team Lead.
Responsibilities
- Canvassers are expected to attend frequent and regular trainings, daily team check-ins/check-outs with Field Team Lead
- Hit campaign goals and metrics
- Attend work regularly (following the attendance policy)
- Maintain accurate track of daily progress for hourly reports to team lead
- Connect with voters door to door
- Be present at voter registration hot spots to register voters
- Update Field Team Lead on any issues immediately when they happen
- Recruitment: collect names of potential volunteers and canvassers in the field and report back to the Field Team Lead
- Assist team members when struggling with goals (if you are on track or ahead yourself)
- Be a team player - maintaining positive working relationships with coworkers and superiors
- Any other campaign-related tasks, as assigned.
- This role requires you to stand and walk for long periods of time in both indoor and outdoor settings including a variety of weather conditions (rain, snow, hot days and/or cold nights).

- Have experience working with others

- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal communication skills that create positive relationships with team, staff, clients, and community members
- Lead with cultural competency and the ability to build relationships and collaborate with colleagues, voters, and volunteers who identify as POC and across lines of difference.
- Access to the internet and a mobile phone.
Preferred, but not required
- Experience working on teams and closely with others
- Bilingual (Fluent in Spanish).

Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
Schedule:

- Evenings as needed
