THE POSITION
The Senior Accountant, reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, is an integral member of the Victory Live accounting team. The person in this role must be a strong team player and communicator, and someone who is able to work well with accounting/finance colleagues and business leaders across product/revenue lines and various expense categories.
The Senior Accountant assists in the management of all aspects of the Company’s accounting function including, but not limited to, the AR cycle (including billing), the AP cycle, intercompany activity, and expense accounting. The Senior Staff Accountant also is primarily responsible for the preparation of the monthly bank account reconciliations, fixed asset reconciliations, the preparation of monthly financial closing entries (including for revenue recognition, depreciation/amortization, payroll, and accrued expenses), and intercompany and various other balance sheet reconciliations.
Additional responsibilities include verification of timely and accurate transaction recording, overseeing and interacting with Staff Accountant(s) in the US and Philippines, and assisting with audit and tax requests, as well as special projects as they arise. A successful Senior Staff Accountant combines high levels of attention to details with an ability to process information in an efficient yet effective manner.

Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Review reconciliations to verify transactional information captured in the Company’s POS system is being accurately recorded within the ERP system by the AP/AR Clerk
- Process Monthly Billing for our software-enabled services
- Perform monthly detailed review of the Company’s AR and AP
- Schedule and ensure the processing of vendor payments in accordance with payment terms
- Ensure vendor bills are processed in the appropriate accounting period and are mapped to the appropriate expense accounts
- Performing month-end balance sheet reconciliations and investigating/resolving any discrepancies identified
- Ensure bank reconciliations are completed accurately and timely
- Oversee and provide training to more junior members of the Accounting/Finance department, including team members in the Philippines
- Assisting in accounting/finance special projects as they arise, such as implementing new systems
- Producing error-free accounting reports and presenting their results
- Analyzing financial information and summarizing financial accounts
- Spotting errors and suggesting ways to improve efficiency
- Reviewing and recommending modifications to accounting systems and procedures
- Assisting with preparation of financial statements and variances of actual results to budget
- Assisting with internal and external audits to ensure compliance
- Heavy involvement in the month-end and year-end close process
- Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience as a Senior Staff Accountant
- 4 - 6 years of accounting work experience preferred
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite required
- Extensive knowledge of basic accounting procedures, including balance sheet reconciliations
- Extensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Proven experience in supporting annual audit and tax requests
- Advanced MS Excel skills including vlookups and pivot tables
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- A positive and team-oriented attitude
- BS degree in Accounting, MAcc preferred
