The Patient/Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, assisting with inquiries, scheduling appointments, and ensuring a positive experience for all individuals interacting with our facility. This position operates in a dynamic and professional environment to ensure the highest level of quality healthcare is delivered to our members. Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Handle inbound and outbound calls in a professional, courteous, and timely manner. Address callers needs which may include resolving issues and educating caller.
- Assist patients by scheduling, canceling and/or confirming medical provider appointments and Transportation (if applicable).
- Answer phones as needed to respond to inquiries made by patients, vendors, insurance companies and other medical facilities. When applicable, collaborate with other Departments by transferring the call or message through EMR.
- Maintain patient’s information updated in the EMR system, verify patient’s demographic information in every call (address, phone number, emergency contact, etc.)
- Screen and route patient calls to other departments efficiently, ensuring accurate registration, appointment scheduling and follow-up appointment scheduling.
- Be fully trained, familiar, and remaining up to date with services and changes in our company, making sure you always provide accurate information to our members.
- Ensure deficiencies or complaints are addressed with the appropriate Department personnel.
- Always maintain strict patient confidentiality and practice HIPAA Compliance Guidelines and regulations.
