Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activity Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our facility by engaging our residents with fulfilling activities. This position requires a strong understanding of aging issues and the ability to work effectively with individuals with diverse backgrounds, including those with memory care needs and disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate recreational programs that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being for residents.
- Assist in the planning and execution of special events, outings, and group activities.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and social workers to create individualized activity plans for residents.
- Provide support and encouragement to residents during activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment.
- Maintain accurate records of participation and progress in activities.
- Engage residents in meaningful conversations to foster connections and enhance their overall experience.
- Monitor resident behavior during activities to ensure safety and address any concerns promptly.
Experience
- Previous experience in a nursing home, assisted living environment or related environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with aging issues counseling, recreational therapy, or social work is highly desirable.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or memory care needs is a plus.
- Strong schedule management skills to effectively coordinate activities and events.
- A background in caregiving or related fields will be beneficial.
Candidates must be willing to complete the Direct Care Competency Exam and CPR training.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 28 per week
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Rotating weekends
- Weekends as needed
