Position Summary
An Audio-Visual Technician III is responsible for installing, maintaining, commissioning and troubleshooting complex audio-visual equipment and systems as well as overseeing other team members performing these duties. This includes tasks such performing complex installations, commissioning complex equipment, directing installations and tasks on a jobsite, and performing complex service calls.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- CTS, CTSD, CTSI, ANP, PMP, or equivalent
- 5 Years Related Industry Experience
Primary Position Duties
- Perform audio visual system installations without supervision including, but not limited to: o Mounting Speakers, Displays, and other equipment
- Mounting peripheral accessories and equipment oPulling wires and cables
- Terminating and soldering wires, cables, and connectors
- Perform complex installations without supervision according to safety guidelines and manufacturer’s instructions and specifications.
- Plan, direct, and oversee the installation of complex audiovisual systems.
- Read and understand complex Scopes of Work and complex, highly engineered plans and drawings, and execute installations accordingly.
- Perform complex technical service calls to diagnose and restore audio visual system functionality.
- Contact and work with manufacturer technical support to complete service calls efficiently.
- Work with manufacturer technical support to start RMA processes as needed and report and record in Field Management Software.
- Use testing equipment such as a Cable Tester, Network Cable Tester, and voltmeters to test and diagnose cables and equipment, and perform certified cable testing requirements.
- Perform complex software and firmware updates to highly valued equipment, programs, and systems using a computer and other methods.
- Commission control systems.
- Maintain Service & Installation Department Vehicles, report needed maintenance to Manager.
- Confirm vehicles are properly loaded with required products, hardware, wires, cables, and equipment for installations.
- Break down boxes and dispose of trash when on job sites and in the warehouse.
- Acquire customer signoff records and the close of installation and return to Manager.
- Use discretion to make minor modifications in Scope of Work while on jobsites.
- Contact Manager for major changes or requests in Scope of Work or product when on jobsite.
- Acquire customer signoff records at the close of installation and return to Manager.
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace by sweeping, vacuuming, and cleaning up tools and products on job sites and in warehouse as directed.
- Report low stocked hardware and product commonly used for installations to Manager.
- Perform regular and scheduled inventory counts of vehicles, and restock vehicles with inventory, hardware, and supplies as needed.
- Assist in onthejob training for AudioVisual Technician II team members.
- Complete industry training and manufacturer training according to Company training plans.
- Track and report all working time in field management software and payroll software.
- Track and report all expenses in field management software.
- Travel and work outoftown, overnight, for several consecutive days.
Physical Requirements
- Lift 80lbs minimum, sit, squat, stand, bend, reach, crawl, to perform installations.
- Carry tools & equipment up and down several flights of stairs.
- Work and stand for several hours consecutively without breaks.
- Work indoors and outdoors yearround.
- Work on ladders, lifts, and catwalks for extended periods of time.
- Possess good eyesight and manual dexterity.
