Coax Splicer
Video Voice Data Communications (VVD) is hiring experienced individuals to Coax splice, reporting out of our Garden Grove, California location. VVD is looking for candidates with at least 1 year experience to coax splice and have the ability complete all job responsibilities working independently and within a team setting. We are looking for candidates that will have the ability to splice, test, repair wires in both indoor and outdoor settings, read and create splicing diagrams and take field notes to handoff to our admin team. Candidates must be able to work in all temperatures and weather conditions and must be able to pass a background check, drug screening and physical examination prior to starting work.
Responsibilities:
- Place and install coax cable
- Install passive and active devices, pedestals, vaults, or Coax splice cases
- Splice, test, repair cables/wires
- Obtain all materials and tools needed for job completion
- Place cable in the trench
- Balancing Amplifiers
- Test, activate and troubleshoot equipment after installation
- Self-supervise to ensure all splicing operations are completed according to company and client standards
- Safely operate and use company vehicle/bucket truck to complete daily assignments as needed
- Safely and properly use safety equipment while completing daily assignments (may have to climb poles, ladders, etc.)
- Complete daily production reports, maps, as-built maps, keep track of worked hours by following company policy
- Frequently work independently
- Other splicing related tasks that may be assigned.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 1-year Coax Splicing experience required and ability to complete all other tasks related to splicing independently
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to read blueprints and/or wire diagrams
• Have knowledge of telecommunications structure
• Must be able to pass pre-employment background check, drug screen and vehicle
• Possess a valid Driver's license
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs regularly as needed
• Must be able to work nights and weekends, if necessary
