Voice Teacher - Music - NYC YSA Voice Educator (In-Person and Online)

Looking for experienced, nurturing, and motivated voice teachers of young singers age 3-18 who like to go the extra mile for private and small group instruction online and at students' homes and studio locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF: You want to teach independently with little to no supervision or connection to the rest of the company. You need lots of scheduling flexibility and expect to need regular subs. You want to teach in a traditional way. You are open to learning a few teaching tips but don't have the time or desire to study a new vocal teaching method or do things differently. You want as little communication as necessary with the team and students outside of lesson time. You tend to be constantly racing around the City getting to meetings just in time. ADDITIONAL JOB ASPECTS:

• Looking for consistent weekend availability and weekdays from 3-7pm
• Attend ongoing YSA PD. Required monthly team meetings and professional development
• For ages 0-7, you must have additional early childhood music education training and experience.
• Basic classroom and management duties, including: parent relations, preparation, instruction, and management of materials
• Adhere to Vielka's Young Singers Academy approach, employee handbook, and complete certification training in The Vielka Method™
• Be a team player. Ask for help and guidance, contribute to the virtual learning platform for teachers, cover for others when there are subbing requests, do what is in the best interest for each student.

EDUCATION:

• Minimum of a Bachelor degree in Voice or Music Education
• Advanced singing technique with ability to model appropriately for children
• Preference for classical voice/musical theater graduates from top institutions
• Kodály, Feierabend, Music Together, Kindermusik, or Suzuki training preferred

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 3 years of experience working with children (e.g. nanny, parent, camp, teaching)
• Computer/tablet/Zoom/tech-savvy or comfy with your own computer
• Teaching online singing lessons
• Additional studies in personal growth, teaching methodologies, conferences, professional associations
