Job Description
Position: Maintenance Assistant
Employment Type: Full-Time (Rotating weekends)

Position Overview:
The Maintenance Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and safety of Vierra Falls Church Health and Rahab by performing a variety of general maintenance tasks. This position requires a hands-on approach to maintaining both the interior and exterior of the facility, including identifying and resolving issues before they become major problems. The Maintenance Assistant will work closely with other staff members and management to address the needs of the building and its occupants. Responsibilities include routine inspections, preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and assisting in special projects, all while ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards. Additionally, the Maintenance Assistant will help maintain a clean and well-organized environment to enhance the overall comfort and safety of residents, staff, and visitors. This role provides an opportunity for someone who enjoys practical problem-solving and takes pride in keeping a facility in top condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance tasks, include basic plumbing, and handy man skills.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify potential maintenance issues.
  • Assist in the upkeep of the grounds, including lawn care, snow removal, and cleaning outdoor areas.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and residents.
  • Ensure safety standards and regulations are always adhered to.
  • Assist in setting up for events and special projects.
  • Maintain inventory of tools and supplies.
  • Collaborate with other team members to complete larger maintenance projects.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in facility maintenance or a related field preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and general repair work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and perform physical tasks.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
